Mr. Larry W. Reaugh, President & Chief Executive Officer of Rocher Deboule Minerals Corp. (TSX.V: RD; Pink Sheets: RDBHF) (“Rocher Deboule” or the “Company”) is pleased to announce plans to drill their 1,605 hectare (3.900 acre) rare earth niobium property located 7.0 km Northeast of the community of Manson Creek in British Columbia.
Geology consists of a syenite-carbonatite complex of Upper Devonian to Lower Mississippian age occurs in metasediments of the Proterozoic Ingenika Group. The metasediments consists of quartz hornblende gneiss, quartzite, sericitic schlst, feldspathic wacke and garnet-biotite-muscovite schlst. These rocks are metamorphosed to amphibolite grade and impose a penetrative fabric on the complex, concordant with that of the country rocks. The carbonatite appears fault bounded and may be within a mylonitized zone relating to regional tectonism. The country rocks are variable fenitized for tens of meters around the complex. Rocks of the Pennsylvanian to Permian Nina Creek Group lie to the west.
The Virgil carbonatite consists of syenite and biotite sovite which is composed of calcite, biotite and minor feldspar, apatite, zircon, columbite and pyrochlore. The zone which strikes 135 degrees and dips 50 degrees is 120 meters long and up to 40 meters wide. Sampling along the length assayed 0.19 per cent Nb2O5 and 0.18 percent zirconium (assessment Report 10729). A chip sample along 56 meters assayed 0.15 per cent TiO2, 0.05 per cent lanthanum and 0.03 percent neodymium (Geology, Exploration and Mining British Columbia 1974). Pg 278-279.
The Lonnie carbonatite is located on strike 4 km northwest of the Virgil.
The Lonnie carbonatite zone has been traced by surface trenching for a length of approximately 650 meters with widths up to 50 meters grading 0.20% Nb2O5. It strikes 120 degrees and dips approximately 60 degrees southwest. A zone in the centre of the property averages 0.3 per cent niobium (Nb2O5) across a width of 7.6 meters and a length of 240 meters (Open File 1987-17).
Diamond drilling will be located on the Lonnie carbonatite, with particular emphasis on validating the historical assays on rare earths.
Sometimes called the “space age metal”

Lanthanum (La) is a soft, malleable, ductile silver-white metal. All production of Lanthanum comes from China. The fastest growing segment is in nickel-metal hydride (NiMH) batteries. Toyota consumes 26 lbs of Lanthanum for every NiMH battery in their Priuse Hybrid. Production in 2007 was 250,000 cars. Price: $6.10/lb. Annual Production: 31,000 tonnes.
Neodymium is a key component of an alloy used to make high power lightweight magnets for electric motors of hybrid cars, and in generators for wind turbines. Total production: 7,000 tonnes/year (China). Price: $9.00/lb. Annual Production: 25,000 tonnes.
The average price of niobium is currently $21.00 US/lb.
Niobium, a soft shiny, white metal, is also known as columbium since it was originally discovered in a mineral named columbite. Like tantalum, niobium, resists corrosion and maintains good physical properties at high temperatures but offers other outstanding attributes.
Although frequently found in the same minerals as tantalum, niobium is more plentiful in nature. Over 60 million pounds of niobium products are produced each year. The largest market for niobium (85%) is in high-strength, low-alloy steel production where it brings high temperature strength and corrosion resistance to gas pipelines, automobile components and structural steel.
